A fun book

It was a fun, enjoyable spy mystery. With a nice touch of romance. It was nice to follow along with the characters as they unraveled the mystery. And entwined with this fun romance mystery, the author was able to deal skillfully with the topics of death, grief, loss and dealing with the feelings around this experience. Two themes, light and dark, merged into an interesting story.

The narrators were also good. Made the story come to life in a way that kept the narrative moving smoothly.

Unexpectedly delightful

Interest plot twist, adorable protagonist, very entertaining. At the end, it would have been nice to see more of the consequences to the bad guys.

I love this book. I love spies and detective stories. And a romantic twist to it?! I’m hooked! I couldn't stop listening. I recommend this book 📕

what a gem!

Thought I was going to get a "traditional cozy" but I was captured by the story and the characters. Give this a listen-- you won't be disappointed.

Good Story!

Brynn Kelly is a talented writer. Nothing cheesy and dialogue was believable for the most part. This story had authentic grip, and wasn’t just sexcapades strung together by fluff. I am happy there were no graphic details in the bedroom scenes. Mystery and suggestion are much more alluring. This book explores all kinds of human connection and emotion. I enjoy when the good guys are so skilled they rarely, if ever, fail. Giving it to the baddies with panache and style, always a step ahead and out thinking them at every turn. When they are tested by being stripped of resources and go rogue, yet still manage to win - so satisfying.

Narrators are fantastic. I’m glad I stumbled across this one and gave it a chance.

Clever and fun

The plot line was clever and the story engaging. I wasn’t thrilled with the “girlish” female voice. It made her sound a bit silly and unsophisticated, even though she was a smart woman and an expert high school teacher. It was insulting to teachers — a reflection of how society (or the performer) thinks of them?

Engaging fun story

Fun story of a high school teacher who gets caught up in an international spy case and of course falls for the ex-spy who is on the run with her as they solve the case. Good story, with nice action, suspense, witty banter, and romance. There’s some depth to the story about grieving and moving on too. Enjoyed the narration.

Surprisingly good!

I don’t put a lot of hope in free books but they’re free so I listen to them. This one is worth a credit. It’s so well written and engaging. I would absolutely listen again. Very good.

Fun run and gun from a woman’s perspective

This is an exciting and fun book but with heart. There is some real people dealing with real grief, yet the action and romance offer life to the story. And hope. We can all use a little of that.
